Artist Statement:

This October marks the 175th anniversary of the publishing of the novel Moby Dick by Herman Melville. Minnow Arts (204 Locust St, Santa Cruz) is hosting a large group art show “I Turn My Body From The Sun” to celebrate this anniversary. A wide variety of subject matter and artistic media will be on display. The show opens on October 2nd (First Friday) from 5 to 9pm and hangs through November 15th. Artists include: Jamie Garfield, Dave Gardner, Genevieve Daly, Kevin Mirsky, Jonathan Steinberg, Lawrence LaBianca, Lucas Elmert, Meghan Hudson, Coco Barret-Tormey, Zac Garfield, Ann Alstead, John Lindsey, Rob Bird-Robinson and Shelby Graham.
